Oh my Aperture...

Went to bed just over midnight (and obviously got to work late) trying out the dynamics between aperture, shutter speed, exposure, white balance and field of depth. You may be thinking (so did I), "That's not a clever way of spending a Monday night!"

Anyway, got my lens out, choose a specific spot as a point of reference and going shooting. First setting was as follows:

  1. Mode: Aperture
  2. White Balance: Sun (Stupid, I know)
  3. Aperture: 4.5
  4. Shutter speed: 1/30
The results were horrendous!! The combination of low light conditions, fast shutter speed and wrong white balance produced "Level 0 photographs". So after watching some tutorials and reading the camera manual (strongly recommended) The following settings enabled me to get really bright and balanced pictured in even under low light conditions.
  1. Mode: Shutter Speed
  2. White balance: Tungsten (+1)
  3. Shutter speed: 0.4"
  4. ISO: 1600
And the results speak for themselves!!
